| Lucie Benediktová was born in Witten in 2007 to Czech parents. She began playing the flute and piccolo at the Herne music school at the age of seven. After moving to Kiel, Lucie joined Gesa Wecker’s class in the fall of 2017, where she acquired her musical skills until 2022. From January 2023, Lucie will be an early student with Sabine Franz at the Rostock University of Music and Drama. |
| Lucie has won several prizes at various competitions. Highlights to date include three 1st prizes at the national “Jugend musiziert” competition. Lucie has also won several special prizes at the WESPE and other competitions. She also received the “Chiffren Preis 2024” at the Frequenz_Festivals Kiel. Lucie is a member of various orchestras and since October 2024 also of the National Youth Orchestra. |
Duo SaLu*t
Since 2023, Lucie has been playing with her duo partner Sara Mai Kusama Karlickova from Flensburg, an exceptional pianist who has already won several prizes at the “Jumu” competition. Thanks to this competition they got to know each other and have already won several prizes together. Like Lucie, Sara was born in 2007 and is studying piano at the “Institute for School-Accompanying Music Education” (ISMA) at the “Music University of Lübeck”. They perform together at various cultural events and concerts for young talents.
Trio Jumu OPEN
Lucie has been playing in a trio with Vincent Dettenborn/trumpet and Ida Dettenborn/cello since 2023 and in the Jumu Open category they have already received two special prizes at the WESPE national competition. They appear together at various cultural and social events. They are currently working with the composer Julius von Lorentz, whose compositions they will present at the “Frequency Festival” in Kiel in May 2025.
